Design Tricks with Adobe Apps

When copying and pasting from photoshop to illustrator it’s important to remember to make sure your photoshop file is at the same raster resolution as the illustrator file otherwise the illustrator file comes in larger than expected. As an example if you are importing art from a 72dpi illustrator file into a 96dpi photoshop file the art needs to be scaled by 75% to compensate. This is an issue more for pc users of the Adobe apps as PS defaults to 72dpi on the mac. In anycase, if your photoshop file is at 96 dpi just resize the ‘image size’ to 72 dpi with constrain turned off and you can copy and paste without worrying about changing sizes after you paste the art.
